From cabinet to casino system: an equipment field guide
A clear vocabulary for reading slot, electronic table and supplier announcements.

The cabinet is the physical platform
A cabinet is the physical machine: screens, controls, enclosure and related hardware. The game is the software and content running on it. A new cabinet can host several games, and a game family may appear in more than one format. Distinguishing the two makes a product announcement easier to understand and avoids counting every hardware change as an entirely new game.
A title is not a performance result
A familiar entertainment licence can explain a product’s theme. It does not establish how a game performs in operation, what its mathematical settings are or whether it is approved locally. Treat supplier descriptions as product information. Independent comparative results require a stated sample, period and method; promotional adjectives do not provide those things.
Electronic tables have multiple components
An electronic table installation may include individual terminals, a shared display and an automated or live source of outcomes. A stadium or pod describes an arrangement, rather than a guarantee about the game’s rules. Hybrid systems combine elements that should be described separately. Readers should ask which component is new and which functions depend on the venue’s configuration.
Systems sit behind the visible equipment
Casino systems can cover accounting, reporting, loyalty, device communication and operational monitoring. A user-facing display may be only one part of a wider installation. The questions to ask include how information moves between components, what access controls exist, how updates are supported and how the implementation fits the local approval process. Those are evaluation questions, not a claim that any particular supplier meets every requirement.
Four checks for any equipment story
Identify the exact product and version. Attribute specifications to their source. Distinguish an announcement from availability and local approval. Finally, separate factual specifications from performance claims. This publication uses that approach to report on equipment without recommending gambling products or promising outcomes.
